At HVCC, we believe that one of the key reasons you’re here on this earth is to serve God using the gifts, passions, abilities and experiences He gave you. This is called Ministry.

Every one of us is a minister.

How many ministers there are at HVCC? Hundreds! YOU are a minister. The Bible says in Ephesians, Chapter 4, verses 11-12, that God has given…pastors and teachers to prepare God’s people for works of ministry, so the body of Christ may be built up. The pastor is the administer. The people are the ministers.

You are a spiritual body builder!

God wants to use you to “build up his body”, meaning the Body of Christ--the church! God refers to the church as a body. Each of us is a necessary and specialized part of making the church work for God’s purposes. He doesn’t need all arms. He doesn’t need everyone to be a head, or a mouth. He DOES intend that every person does what he or she is uniquely equipped to do.

God designed it so that we need one another and need to work together.

None of us can do everything. Each of us is needed to do the job we were meant to do! God designed it so that we would need each other and so we would all work together.

God can use YOU.

One of the biggest myths ever told is, “I don’t have any gifts God or the church could use.” Truth is, you are an essential part of the body. What if one day your liver decided to take a day off? Or your right knee decided to go on strike? Your body couldn’t function. God made ONE YOU, and there’s a special job that God’s prepared just for you that NO ONE ELSE can do the way you are equipped to do it!
