Pastor Brian Rudesill’s dodgeball team couldn’t defend its title from determined attackers, and a new champion was crowned at the second annual Hidden Valley Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, March 29.

There were two big goals for the day: one, to raise money for the HVCC teen ministry ($375 was raised), and two, to capture bragging rights from Brian and his Total Annihilation teammates, who won the first tournament held last year.

The latter theme was clear from the names of some of the 15 teams: Deacon Milktoast Fan Club, BB (Beat Brian), Brian's Going Down, TAA (Total Annihilation Assassins), and As Long As Brian Doesn't Win.

First place in the double-elimination, six-on-six tournament was captured by the BB (Beat Brian) team, whose members included Mike Bisbach, Scott Lundell, Matthew Nechvatal, Charlie Trecek, Mitch Trecek, and Matt Johnson.  Second place went to the Sandhill Daredevils, and third place to Brian's Going Down.

The top three teams received trophies. The first-place winners also received a gift certificate from Pizza Hut and T-shirts with "Champ '08" on the back.
